The weekly AOGC permit/completion report of 8/22/14 shows that Saye Oil Co of  Shreveport has renewed its permit for a 4900' Pettet try in the McLendon Branch Field of Columbia County. This is the Natural Resources 1, serial # 47170, in section 8 of Township 19S Range 18W. This section abuts the Union County line and is about 5 miles north of the Arkansas/Louisiana state line.

The above Natural Resources 1 well in 8-19S-18W was spudded by Sewell Drilling rig #2 on 8/29/14 and is reported drilling ahead as of 9/5/14.

Drilling must be finished in this well because rig has moved off location as of 9/12/2014.

Sorry to report that this well has now been plugged and abandoned.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
