Nobody has mentioned this well, which appears to be somewhat of a sleeper.  Although Nelson/Pryme have drilled wells in this field about 5-6 miles to the NE, it will be interesting to see what Anadarko can do!

Dominique No. 1, Serial No. 243229.  This well is right on the St. Landry/Avoyelles line and is most certainly a unit well for the  AUS C RB SUA, North Bayou Jack Field.

TD is shown as 23,200' and it is currently drilling at 14,178' on 6/27.

This is a really important well for N. Bayou Jack and Moncrief fields, including acreage in NE St. Landry, SW Avoyelles and on into Pointe Coupee.

My family owns land in the immediate vicinity, so I'm praying this is a barn-burner!

Yep.  I'm like Miles I think that is to soon, just makes LSU a bigger target by the likes of all SEC teams.  I'd rather have Oklahoma and Bama up there and be the big targets for LSU.

I see a lot of water trucks around Barnett Shale.  They are every where.  Going all directions.  Even several cases of illegal dumping on record.  So it must be a terrific irritant to the producers.  And a side viable business, hauling off the excess water.

It's not only an irritant to the operator, it's a waste cost. Does anyone know the average cost per bbl of waste water for the operator?

Latest update from Sonris posted yesterday.

Any comments from people in the know on the reported pressures and choke size?  I assume FTP is flow tubing pressure and SITP is Shut in Tubing pressure, but a lot of this is greek, especially when in pieces.   I also assume GOR (gas oil ratio) is pretty good at 1,528.5, but don't know how that fits in.  1,151 MCFD also isn't too bad on the gas side as a bonus, depending on drop-off.

From the geologist types.  Knowing the AC is somewhat discontinuous, could a well be drilled within a mile or two and possibly be much more successful from a geological standpoint?  I know it could also be worse, I'm just wondering about the effect on surrounding acreage since this well is looking more like a single or double than a homerun.

And for the engineer types, is it possible this well could have been drilled in a way that it has less communication with the water bearing zones but still maintains good production?  In other words, is there a lot of room for improvement from an engineering/drilling perspective?

Thanks.

I think this is a valid point. When they drilled just north of the Avoyelles Parish line, they went straight down 16,500 and then went horizintal in a generally Southwest direction for 7,000 feet into St. Landry Parish. Why did they choose that SW direction? What are the factors at play other than their lease holdings?

They are drilling parallel with dip and perpendicular to natural fractures.

The Sonris site has not been updated since 9/27.  Has anyone seen or heard of any recent activity at the Dominique site of late?
Is it or isn't it in production. Once a well goes to production DNR usually drops it for the SONRIS Scout report.

13 more units have been applied for just south of the Dominique well.  Article posted in Avoyelles Today last week.

Madman,

Those appear to be mostly to the NE of the Dominique well and surround the existing Nelson/Pryme Deshotel Well and units.  But, the bottom edge of the proposed units is roughly in line with the Dominique well to the West.   Don't know the distance in Sections/Units between the AUS C RB SUA and these proposed units, but it's fairly close.

You can find a better plat on the hearings schedule on the DNR website.

Thank you for clarifying.  I was unable to enlarge the map that accompanied the article so was not able to pinpoint any of the proposed units.  I assume this is good news, hopefully based on the future success of the Dominique well.  Thanks again.
Once a well goes into production, is there a general time frame that a property owner can expect to begin receiving royalties, or is it dependent upon the individual contract?   Thanks in advance for any input.
