The Senate just voted on the NAT GAS Act offered as an amendment (#1782) of the
 Transportation Bill #1813.

The amendment failed by 9 votes. Senator Vitter was one of the nay votes. He voted against the best interest of the people of Louisiana. Be sure to remember this.

WOW!  Does he say why or is he sitting in a corner somewhere?

Why is the question. When the amendment was offered, both Democrat and Rebuplican Senators spoke in favor of it. No one spoke against it. Vitter hid under a desk, I guess but voted against it. I watched the voting on C-SPAN.

It is totally disgusting.

Landuiu (misspelled I know) voted against XL Pipeline and with Obama on every energy issue that comes up.  Voters in Louisiana and Texas need to think about how they want to be represented and maybe change things up.

As things work in D.C.  Someone didn't get the FAVOR they were promised... or there wasn't enough under the table $$$ available!!!

I sent Vitter an email saying that his "nay" vote was noted and would be shared with the people involved in the Haynesville Shale, adding that we have votes too and will remember this.

So did I.  I am so sick of those idiots in Wash.--Both sides.

LP,

YOU have got to by kidding me!!!!  Vitter voted NO??????   What an IDIOT!

Vitter should have GONE a long time ago...When his NAME became "synonymous" with Prostitution!  And his "Family Values" stance bacame a joke.

On second thought... Maybe WE are the IDIOTS!

9 votes...  What a complete disservice to the American People and Our Country's Future Energy Independence...

Maybe he is being paid off with 99 prostitutes.

LOL...

Sesport II,

Great Info/Chart.  IMO, BIG OIL wants BIG OIL and Shale.  And, when one thinks about it...

Could it be that BIG OIL is "letting" Nat Gas Companies do the "heavy lifting?"  e.g.,  shale "nat gas" taking the public "whippings" (whipping boy) while BIG OIL invests and produces in the "shadows?"  ...And, BIG OIL picks up the "falling" shales/pieces where they can?  Good Strategy?

No matter what, BIG OIL will always be the winner in U.S. Energy.  The Nat Gas Companies are at their mercy...  And, so are WE.

U.S. Economy/U.S. Citizens are takin' the "whipping" too.  U.S. Politicians have to GET ON BOARD with what the U.S. Economy NEEDS ARE!  Energy Policy with NAT GAS Highway and Support Incentives to GET ON WITH IT!  IMO

We ALL Pay Taxes...  And, WE ALL Subsidize Some Part of the U.S. Economy with OUR Taxes...  Agriculture, Beef Industry, Small Businesses, Education, College Student Loans, Health Care, Senior Care, Emergency Disaster Relief, etc., etc., etc.

For anyone to say they want ALL "subsidies" to end... They are dreaming a bad dream.  IMO

U.S. Debt and Subsidies are a necessity.  Debt and Subsidies give U.S. Citizens a Higher Quality of Life and help Businesses/Jobs survive when Economies start to Tank.  If ALL Business and ALL U.S. Families where to be FORCED to Operate/Live on a CASH Basis only...  No help...EVER...  No matter what the Crisis or NEED...  What A Disaster... Better hope you're one of the .001 percent at the $$$$ Top! LOL

The Problem with U.S. Debt and Subsidies... MANAGEMENT OF DEBT & SUBSIDIES!!!!  U.S. POLITICIANS HAVE NO WISDOM, NOT A CLUE AS TO THE MANAGEMENT OF U.S. DEBT & SUBSIDIES.  Again, IMMostHO.  I haven't seen ONE or heard ONE U.S. Politician yet that Could even handle their own checkbook let alone OUR ECONOMY!  LOL  NONE OF THEM seems to mind Spending Other Peoples' Moneys to the tune of $$$$ Millons to Run Their Never-Ending Campaigns... Do you think they sit down and "Manage" their Campaign Spending or Put a Ceiling on their Campaign Spending?????  Who "Subsidizes" Those????  US!!!!   Every 2 and 4 YEARS!!!  Seems to me like Politicians don't have any problem "OUT SPENDING" Their Opponents!!!  Yeah...What a GREAT BUNCH of MANAGERS!!!!  LOL

And, Jindal and Vitter?  No hope for La/U.S. here either.  Their Management Styles/Votes/Decisions are made with THEIR PERSONAL AGENDAS/POLITICAL ASPIRATIONS FIRST...  La/U.S. LAST, if at all.

I know that the Transportation...so called Energy Bill wasn't perfect.  Several Amendments in there I did not like and would not have voted for myself.  But no BILL is ever Perfect.  All are packed with Too many Personal-Agenda-Political-Aspiration-Inspired-Drafted-Back-Doored-Lobby-Paid-For Amendments attached to them.   And WE ALL have to live with that.

But U.S. Economic Life doesn't have to STOP IN ITS TRACKS.   FIX IT! AND GET ON WITH IT!  WE ARE LOSING THE BEST WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY THAT HAS BEEN SEEN IN U.S. ENERGY IN OVER 100 YEARS!!!  WHAT FOOLS.

WHAT'S THEIR PROBLEM?  I AM SHOCKED AND DUMBFOUNDED THAT NO ONE WHO GETS TO EXERCISE THEIR "VOTING" POWERS...CAN "MANAGE" TO SEE THE U.S. ENERGY ECONOMIC BUSINESS AT HAND...  NONE OF THEM SHOW ME ANY CONFIDENCE.

ESPECIALLY Obama, Jindal & Vitter.  They might as well be working for OPEC!

Apologize for the opine...  Mad as hell.

Thanks again for the gas/diesel tax chart.
