I was at a lunchen today with a speech given by a VP from Petrohawk. It was an infomative talk about the HA. He did say that the Hawk and CHK are partnering up on some wells, and are trying to work together instead of creating competion in the leasing game.

Hello, Phyllis. I am not sufficiently familiar with the status of the shale in E. TX. to answer your question. The most knowledgeable member in that area who I am aware of is jffree1.
or a class action anti-trust suit? Could be expensive.

I need to ask you a question. I talked to the Landman we delt with on our lease, Acadian Land, we have a great lease, $25,000/ac & 25% royalties,Bossier Parish Sec25 T16N R11W. Our minerals expire Aug 9,2010. They have the majority of the section leased and not all of the section is leased. I asked him about forced pooling and he flat out told me Louisiana does not have forced pooling only Texas & Oklahoma. Now from what i have been reading on this website contradict what he said about Louisiana Can you enlighten me. thanks
His comment to me was that Louisiana did not have forced pooling. I just found that comment kind of strange.
Granpa,

If he told you this during the leasing stage, I can only assume it was to make you believe you would be left out if you didn't sign.

I have a great deal of respect for some landmen, but most that were involved in the leasing frenzy would have thrown their grandmother under a bus if it would get the lease signed.
He told me this last week when I called him to ask how things were going with the other property in our section. There were several property owners they were trying to sign and one in particular they did not get, That is when i asked him about forced pooling

We signed with them mid Aug of this year and recieved a generous bonus.

The landman said that Petrohawk had a lot of activity in permitting around us but was not at liberty to say much more.
Granpa,

Acadian leased 122.87 acres from 4 owners and then Assigned to Anadarko. Anadarko assigned to XTO.

Was your lease directly to PetroHawk (handled through Acadian Land?
Yes.
It looks like Petrohawk is the most aggressive, so hopefully they leased the bulk of your section.

The 122 acres was easy to account for, Acadian didn't lease very much under their company name.

The landman may have told you that LA doesn't have force pooling since this may be the line he is presently feeding the unleased in your section. I have seen that when they out and out lie they sort of stick to the same story with everyone.
Are you wanting to know what the odds are that you will have prescription interupted?
What do you think the odds are. He seemed to think it would be a photo finish on Petrohwak drilling and the minerals expiring. We have money set aside to drill down to areas we reserved that would interrupt the perscription.
Then see if you can sign a lease that will expire before your minerals will prescribe. If they drill, good.

If not you can drill and interupt on your own.
