<the perils of trying to save money with the re-entry>>>
I have it on good authority many AC wells in the Masters Creek/Pitkin/Sugartown/Chasmore/Fullerton fields/ were permitted for two laterals but only one was drilled. So it's a free ride downhole in an existing cased wellbore (some still producing?) to around 12-13000 feet, plus or minus. That will be hard to resist.
A random check of wells in the Chasmore Field (2532) west of Pitkin/Masters Creek showed only 9 -5/8 casing was used.
Again, the thrust of the AC play was to drill and HBP 1600 (+/-) acre units for future use in developing underlying deep gas prospects.
Someone must have been cognizant at the time of casing issues on re-entry.
Bob Z - 9.625 is good size to re-enter / a lot of those wells in that area were "open hole completed" (i.e. no deep production casing set) since they were playing the AC natural fracture systems and not doing any stimulation / perforation. Just have open hole to let natural fractures produce what they can (O&G and water).
RM:
Confirm on open hole completion at the base and laterals. Most of the wells would begin to slurry / silt in within a few months as the chalk layer would break down, plugging the wells.
Open hole completions in chalk formations will produce a lot of formation (e.g. chalk dust) due to friction from fluids moving into open hole.
This can sometimes be corrected by water and/or acid washes.
Doug, anything new on site?
The crane down, they said they would make announcement soon.
BlackBrush has nine proposed units they sent out to land owners...
WOW!!!!!!!!!
It's Happening????? I'm confused. What is happening?
No surprise on the matrix P&P focus - now the question is how thick the section is and how consistent it is. As well as presence or lack of ash beds that can limit frac growth.
Plat: BLACKBRUSH proposed North Cheneyville Field Austin Chalk units.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
