Ok, really confused on my end. They say it is up here & then they say it's not. Yet, i can go into town 4.5 miles east of my property and there is a pipe in the back yard of a mans house sticking out of the ground with a gas fire coming out of the top of the pipe. It has been burning for about 3 weeks now. I am sure it probably is a shallow gas well, but it is "Gas".
Gas is Gas---right? It all comes from under the grown so i would think that the haynesville shale is below the area. Sorry if i appear a little dumb on this subject but so much has been said, it's hard to believe anything anyone says. (Not meaning anyone in the North Caddo Group)I would certainly like to know what is or what is not going to happen up in this area.
Any information would be much appreciated---Gin

No shale that far north, gas is produced from a myriad of formations, you might wanna google petroleum geology and do a little reading.
Gas is not the only thing under our land. What about a good OIL WELL, like the one ETOCO just drilled close to the Clements Heirs well? sn 238870 s20 t23 r14. Info on Sonris states that is pumping 353 bpd on an 18/64 choke. Is this not something we would rather have than a 2mmcfd gas well? I'm just asking because I'm not from an oil and gas background. Sorry if this is a silly post but could use any information someone might have and be willing to share..tia
heck yeah!
Thank you Electro for sharing this information. Now, i understand a little more about what is going on. I heard after the 1st of next year things will be happening again & hopefully up here.....lol.! I also heard that the shale in Houston, Texas is not cutting it any more, so that will make the gas companys more likely to stay in this area and drill more. Crude oil is rising again, so natural gas prices should go up!
Why is it that you go to elm grove and out past lsus and there are wells less than 200feet apart and you go north 21,19n,15w etc and they are drillling wells and nothing is ever producing. what are they doing? are they a bunch of amatuers up north or what? I drove back and looked at the lona 21 well because nothing is ever changeing in sonris and it looks plugged and abandoned! They have been in this hole three times! All the surface equipment is gone and the fence is half tore down!
The cotton valley formation up north is very much hit or miss, The Elm grove area is the most prolific CV field in America IMO. It's that simple.
