.Hey everyone been a while since my last post. I finnally got to go out to caddo parish and see the property on buncombe road. Its a huge pad, enough room for two wells.. It has two pits so I assume its for two wells. They were supposed to drill but our permits expired. It says on sonris that well cannot be drilled under that serial number. How do I get the new number. I would also like to find out if its gotten its new permits. Do they have to notify me and send letters like they did before when it was hot. Sec 17 16n 15 w. AND sec 8. the two sections are right next to each other but I dont remember sec 8's N and W. The old serial number was 238694. Oh, I have acreage on Elysian feilds road , what is that area looking like. Someone told me its a far west for the HOT plays

YLO, at this time Chesapeake has not filed for the new permit (or at least it has not been entered in Sonris). Once they file the new Serial Number should be available. By the way both sections are in the same township-range (T16N-R15W) and the Johnson Branch Field.
Thanks alot les. Should I be concerned that the permits have expired/not gotten new ones? When I was there last week I saw a sizmic truck but that was it. Les thanks a lot for helping me. I think this is so exciting.

YLO, I would not be too concerned about the expired permit. Your area is right in the core of the Haynesville Shale and will be drilled eventually. Timing is the real issue because the major operators such as Chesapeake, Petrohawk, EnCana, etc are trying to get a lot of acreage drilled that is not currently held by production.
The second pit does not nessarlly mean it is a pad for two wells. Lately I have seen CHK build a reserve pit, and a storage pit for frac water. They are pumping freshwater from nearby surface water to the location, allow the water to settle, and then transfer the water to the frac tanks when they are ready.

About the expired permit, CHK has had trouble keeping up, I have seen several permits expire, they will repermit when ready. I wouldn't be suprised if the bill to extend the time limit on permits in the LA leg isn't being pushed by CHK.
The bill in the legislature is to extend the time to a year. You mention the cost, but don't forget the time is can take to get a permit through. Last summer when thigs were hot, Shreveport District was snowed under.
You will find the district is not sympathatic to an operator trying to walk a permit through any more.
