My dad passed away in 2008..before that he always talked about rigs coming into the place were he lived. I never listened to him..go on and on about oil around us..till now. Since he passed and my brother and i have taken over the land, We have had maybe 10 letters in the mail about wanting to buy our land. Since we do have some mineral rights in Nac also ..i have started to pay attention to whats going on. If anyone could help me out or know a good lawyer that could help that would be nice. I found some things that might help...it says Squire humphries survey A-280
Its not alot of land..so i cant figure out why they would want it in the first place...unless its only to buy our mineral rights also, and in no means am i gonna do that lol

Danielle---If not leased and moving your way patient--- they will find you and don't jump on the 1st wagon give it time and talk to any one you know in area about if they have leased and to whom. In mean while do lots of reading if you have > 10 acres and you get call on leasing then consult with oil & gas attorney (Board Certified) if some one call about leasing ask lots of question--who they leasing for ,what formation etc If you would share how many acres and what Survey with abstract # you in? I can look on rrc web site and tell you what activity in area or not and then show you how to go on the GIS map and see all the data.
okay i sure will everything helps lol The only thing i can find is that i am in Squire Humphries survey A-280 and it has a six on it ...i dont know what that means lol...I own 8 acres
danielle-- sad to say nothing but dry holes for 5-6 miles in all directions 360 degrees with one well drilled in your survey 1980 by Phillips Petroleum to 11,790' which would be thru Cotton Valley sands and possible shale but shale has minimal prosity could not be produced in 1980 only with horizontial drilling that tech not used until early 1980s by Mitchell so that maybe was wildcat for oil or something but would have gone thru cotton valley sands. May they will shoots some 3-D seismic pictures and find something there but right now doubtful-- sorry but this is just my opinion and I don't know. Keep you ears open and who know the phone may ring. Still would not let any one buy your minerals.
thanks so much adubu!!! Can you tell me how to look on the GIS map you were talking about..please thank you again
