125.69 / 610.507 X royalty rate should equal the interest shown on your division order... if you own the entire acreage. If you own an undivided interest in that acreage, then first divide the 125.96 acres by the number of owners. If you don't know how many owners there are you can work it backwards from the decimal on the division order to see how many net mineral acres they find you owning. If you don't agree with their findings... now is the time to ask them (nicely) to explain how they came up with your interest... before you sign it.
andy d--- I see for sure you are a Aggie and jffree1 must be also----- if you own 10 acres and unit is 610.507 it is simply 10/610.507X % royalty= decimal interest---- it makes no differents how many owners in unit or the 125 or what # since you own 10 net mineral acres peroid ------10/610.507=0.01637983 and if you have 25% royalty then X0.25=0.00425876 if 20% R then X0,2= 0.0003276 BTW I love Aggie they are conservative people
I'm not an Aggie, not that there's anything wrong with Aggies or their math... I know some really smart ones... and you just said what I said by going straight to the 10 acres he thinks he owns but the question was how to do the math so I broke it down. Now, it seems to me that there may be a mineral reservation (that he is not aware of) somewhere in his chain of title if he isn't getting their number using his 10 acres. That's why I suggested he ask for an explanation before signing that division order. I hope you agree with that oh wise and all knowing adubu?
Andy, how long was your well producing before you got your division orders? The well that I'm a part of has been producing since April 14, this year and I haven't received my orders. Thanks
By the name you are using, it is likely the same well. I called because I saw production as well and no division orders. They could not find me at first so I told them to use Uncle Jacks name and that's when they found me. They sent a second set of division orders.
Hey, cuz. Yes, it's the same well. Should I call them. If you think I should....got a number? I live here in Churns old house and have watched the entire process with all the trucks, rigs, etc.
I thought that might be you. What are the odds of another churn. I have a name and number at the office. I will post Monday.
jffreel, I need some help. Got my first check for April, May and June. Decimal interest is correct, acreage is correct. However, the price of natural gas that they are paying me for seems too low. April - 1.05, May - 1.39,
June - 1.66. I didn't think gas had ever gone below 2.00. I could be wrong. Leased with Devon, then it was "sold" to Chesapeake. Anyway, can you help me understand why my check is less than I thought it should be.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
