The map below shows two laterals from one well bore. One north/south and one east/west. Why does this well show two laterals?

FXEF, it is mistake as the well does not have two laterals and the well is shown in the wrong location.
I agree, this one looks like a simple mistake.

I've seen a fair number of SONRIS records with obviously wrong data like this. Apparently, when they enter in a bad bottom coordinate, they usually don't remove the bad coordinate when they enter the correct one.

You'll also see "double" well bores like this where a permit was applied for and expired, when they reapplied, they apply for a different bottom hole coordinate.

There are also a few "visual doubles" with a superpad configuration, but if you check more closely, the well surface location is actually slightly different between two different wells.

Note that SONRIS does NOT show the actual wellbore location. It shows the surface well location, the bottom hole location and draws a line between the two. Since many of the wells have slanted "verticals," the lateral may actually be significantly different from what's shown by SONRIS.

I wonder if they ever actually do drill more than one lateral from a single surface location? I guess it's possible if they have a problem with one well bore, plug it, and then "kick off" and do another well bore. Do they ever have two producing well bores from a single surface well bore?
Mac, it is not really technically feasible to do two multi-stage frac'ed laterals from the same vertical wellbore in the Haynesville Shale. Multiple horizontal laterals (6-8) have been done in the Giddings Field (Austin Chalk) but these were not mult-stage frac'ed laterals.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
