I am not familiar with attaining information regarding production units from the website so was wondering if someone could provide the information. Is Section 30, T 17N, R12W,assigned in a production unit? There has been a couple wells in the area but don't believe they are in Section 30.
Also does anyone know if there is any activity, ie,leasing, possible wells, going in this area at this time? Thanks for any input.

S30-17N-12W is an EnCana Haynesville Drilling Unit. There is no well.
Thanks for the reply and information. Since a Unit has been established would it be safe to assume that they are looking to drill? or do the companies regularly set up units so they are established when they decide to drill.
In the Haynesville Shale Play the general strategy was to apply for the unit before permitting and/or drilling a well. This was because the shale was considered to be continually productive over large aerial extents. That's generally different from unitization in conventional reservoirs where operators waited to complete a successful well before applying for a compulsory drilling unit. A drilling unit is in effective indefinitely until dissolved by a subsequent unit application. There is no requirement to drill any wells in a given length of time. Lease terms covering minerals within the unit boundary have more to do with when and whether a well will be drilled. EnCana may decide to drill prior to those leases expiring or they may decide to allow the leases to lapse.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
