Hard to say. If past wells are any indications it could be months. I'll try to remember to check the next time I'm at the Shreveport OC office.
Since Wildhorse has left the building, its probably safe to say it stunk.
Or, it's another good well and that's why MRD acquired all the WRM leasehold east of Ruston.
Skip I don't have access to Lincoln Parish on-line records but I don't believe that MRD acquired all or any of the WRM leasehold east of Ruston. I went by the Spillers well in Choudrant this morning and it stills has the Wildhorse well sign up. In the past around here the MRD signs were up almost before the sale was closed. Talk around here MRD not interested in WRM due to poor well performances in this area.
lee, I do have a remote access account and there is at least one assignment of leases from WRM to MRD. I haven't picked it apart and it may not cover all the leases that are a portion of the 132,000 acres of leasehold that MRD acquired from others however having followed the play on a daily basis for 5 years I'm confident that there is no way that MRD picked up that much acreage without it including all or substantially all of WRM's leasehold east of Ruston. I expect that after the Spillers well is completed along with the pipeline associated with the WRM wells we'll see the formal change of operator filed with the state. Then the signs will change as will all the well data in the state database. Although the talk may be correct regarding the IP on those WRM wells it doesn't account for the science produced by those wells. Since MRD is producing from multiple formations the Terryville complex and the eastern wells are completed in only one formation it would be a mistake to reach any conclusion based on the production from those wells.
Skip,
Regarding your last sentence, "Since MRD is producing from multiple formations the Terryville complex and the eastern wells are completed in only one formation..." What might this mean to me, the landowner and leasee if I have a Pugh clause in my lease?
Thanks
Depends on the wording. The standard vertical Pugh allows the lessee to hold all depths down to the producing interval plus 100', after expiration of the primary term. Or it could read, "to the deepest depth drilled, plus 100 feet". Either way these are exploratory wells and likely have pilot holes deeper than any horizontal lateral.
My property is in this unit. I wrote to WRM to ask them about the availability of production numbers. They wrote back, but not with any information.
I'm encouraged by the diameter of the pipe they're laying to the adjacent well (Pruett 16-21 HC). I believe it is 16 inch. I'm also encourage by the fact that they moved the drilling rig from the Smelley site in sec 16 directly to the site in sec 15. I heard a rumor that it was to go elsewhere. I'm assuming that the initial data from the Smelley well was favorable. At least that's my wishful thinking.
It's not only the same size pipe, and it is indeed the same pipe, running to multiple wells. Don't assume too much from the pipe size as it will likely serve a number of wells when completed.

Yes.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
