I just listened to a replay of Crimson's earnings conference call and found it very interesting that they stated that over the Sabine Island area they believe it will be prospective for the Haynesville Lime. I know Devon had some big directional wells with early success in the lime over in Shelby county but have not heard much about it since. Also discussed was that the Haynesville Lime lies below the Haynesville and Bossier Shales. I guess one could infer that the Haynesville is not pinched out at least in part of Sabine county if it lies above a prospective formation. Thoughts on the potential of this as a target? Do they drill the H.Lime horizontally? If so what could that do to the recovery over a vertical? Is is something that is naturally fractured or do they have to manually fracture the rock? I will post over on the main page as well to see if more answers come from there.

I would like to order up one of those please..............OK two!
Where is the Oliver # 4 well located pls.
Southwest Shelby County in Benjamin J. Porter, A-559.
O.K., maybe I am missing something here. Why would they go through all levels of the Bossier and Haynesville to develop the lime unless what?
Ken, It is the deepest of the targets so maybe depth clauses in leases????? Also, Devon stated that the wells are about $5.5 million to drill so they don't have to produce as much to pay off and it looks like they decline slower than the Haynesville/Bossier so you don't use up 30+% of EUR on weak gas prices. I think these are possibilities as to why they would complete a vertical in the lime.
Ken, It makes sense to produce the deepest interval first because they can always come back up-hole and complete a shallower interval to keep the well producing. In that part of Shelby County, they should be able to keep the Oliver #4 well online for some time to come. I have seen recompletions in other directional wells so I have to assume they can do them the same way.

Regardless, it is becoming apparent that the HA Lime is of interest to Devon and others.
Gentleman, thank you for your response.
I think we will know by the end of the year. Let's see how Ches completes their HA horizontal. The HA Lime looks good to HBP. If prices go to $5-$6 (crossing fingers) the other zones are waiting.
Jffree, I reckon you go uphole but not up-hole.
LOL!! Looks like you can't do either, now!
Jffree, let's see how this works - hoyo arriba.
Just for the record, there was a well drilled just south of Brookeland , about a year ago, and some of the people who worked on the rig , told me that it was a exploratory well, and was going very deep, way below where anyone has drilled in this area , later, they told me that it was a incredible well, do you think they were just seeing how far south in Sabine county the formations go? Does anyone know if this well. As far as I know , they completed it or capped it and left.
