What happened to this well. Heard it was plugged because they didn't see what they expected to see. Also heard they would be back to study it. Don't know what that means.

olddog,

A section, township & range or serial number would be helpful.

28-9-11, Carlton Sally 28 well.  Did they actually plug and abandon it?  So many good wells around there, hard to believe this one would be a dry hole.  Any idea what happened?
Belmont boy sounds like he has section township and range. Belmont Boy is also correct about so many good wells in the area. I suspect based on the other wells that the operator (Nabors) must have messed up this well.

Don't think anyone knows anything but rumors....I heard the well was temporarily abandoned on account of "formation issues"...whatever that means.  Just don't seem reasonable that there is no Haynesville there with a 20M+ well in sight of the Salley well.  Oh well, time will tell.

Has anyone heard anything about what happened with this well?  Was by there today and the location is clean as a baby's bottom!  Just a rock pad except for the hole where they actually drilled.  Mud pit reclaimed, tanks, pipe, everything is gone.  Have to believe this is a first for HS wells.  Is there any indication they may come back?
rumor going around that nabors messed the well up.  no details.

well was plugged and abandoned.

1 have seen  wells in other sec. P&A. and they usually come back  and  re permit . if its an issue with formation they may not. it seems as if they were going to come back they would have left the pad intact.
Have been trying to get some factual information about this well, but SONRIS has been no help and there is nothing available through the Shreveport District Office of the Conservation Dept.  Last info posted stated, "Drilling 15,587; Set Plug 13,250 - 12,283 W/180 SX; BOP Test 1-10-11 P&A."  Can someone out there decode this for me and explain in layman language what it's saying.  Thanks for your help.

Pelican has already stated... the well has been plugged and abandoned (P&A).

Layman language: The bottom of the plug is at 13,250 feet, and the top is at 12,283 feet, using 180 sacks of cement. Tested on 1-10-11.

would be interested in this response as well??? Anyone know whats up with this?
