This should be an improved link to the approval.
Dang!
This is great news for all of us in San Augustine, but really good for those of us with holdings within T.Quirk!
Devon's well is within 'spitting' distance of two of my families leases... Hope all of the other players are paying attention... maybe some more companies will pop in some more holes now!
Thank you Devon and Crimson for your expertise and resources in bringing this fabulous well to San Augustine County!
Get the rigs drilling boys!!!

"With a flow rate of more than 30 million cubic feet per day, we believe the Kardell well is the highest rate well ever drilled in the Haynesville Shale. This is clearly a very positive development for the southern portion of the Haynesville Shale play," said David A. Hager, executive vice president of exploration and production. "We plan to go to a five-rig program in 2010 in this southern play area. Our longer-term objective is to continue to systematically evaluate and de-risk our entire Haynesville Shale position."
Interesting overview of the North American shale plays and the revolution in unconventional plays from a recent Northeast Energy Association presentation - note the slide near the back on potential daily production from the Haynesville, very impressive -

On page three there is a yellow circle drawn around an area. Anyone know what the yellow circle represents?
New Devon well W-1 filed today it appears:

SKILLERN GU - Well # 1
2.2 miles east of San Augustine

This must be near the Kardell well I assume, looks like only a 'stones throw' if I have my distances and bearings correct (no telling). Only 14,500 TD versus 18,000 for Kardell. Wildcat

If anyone knows anything about what is going on please post! Thanks

This was filed one day last week . ALSO they are building another pad between the Kardell and the Skillern GU.
The horizontal on this one is only 778 feet. That seems odd. Any thoughts? Could Devon have picked up some faults in the area and has limited their horizontal?

Maybe its the mother load after all and that's why Devon is selling all off shore assets.
Mike, It's a directional well, not a horizontal.
Okay... what is the difference between a directional and a horizonal?
