Cabot Oil & Gas will drill the Wyatt Gas Unit Well No. 4 to 14,000 feet 9.3 miles southwest of Center in the Angie (James Lime) Field. It is in the N.T. January Survey, A-1082.
Cabot Oil & Gas completed the Wyatt Gas Unit Well No. 1 to 10,309 feet 9.34 miles southwest of Center in the Angie Field. No test data was recorded. Production is in the James Lime.
As of Friday Cabot stock was up 49% over where it was in mid-December 2008.
I understood that in late summer/early fall Cabot was waiting for the results of a 3d seismic survey for this area. Why was no test data recorded? Was the drill you mentioned the original drilling or was is within the last month or two?
It's my understanding that they hit saltwater on this well. Don't have any additional info on the other wells in the unit.

The Angie Field has seen the Wyatt Gas Unit Well No.1 completed by Cabot Oil & Gas Corp. This well is located 9.34 miles southwest from Center with a depth of 10,309-feet. When gauged on a 16/64-inch choke, the well potentialed 273,000 cubic feet of gas. Production is in the James Lime formation.
Thanks for the info. I've figured out a whole lot of stuff regarding gas leasing since this all started, but can you tell me what "potentialed" means? Over what period of time? Is it 273,000 cubic feet or million cubic feet? Is that per month or total for all time, etc.? Does the use of the 16/64 inch choke mean they're purposely keeping the flow low? Thamks for amy more info.
Forbes, Potential means the best estimate of the initial daily production based on the test they did at 16/64 inch choke. In this case it's 273 thousand cubic feet daily potential.

I'm not sure why they used a 16/64 choke. In my limited understanding this does not indicate a really good well for Cabot.

Anyone who would like to offer Forbes a better explaination please feel free to do so.
