Lease Offer CM Hill Survey, A 1121 from Newfield Exploration, What is going rate?

Anyone have any ideas about leasing prices in this area. I was contacted yesterday about leasing for $1,000.00 per acre with 25% royalty. I only have 5 acres in this area. I asked for $2,000.00 per acre and waiting for reply..Any help would be appreciated...Thanks

Newfield Exploration.
Maybe someone else can zoom in on how close you are to shale activity, producing, drilling or permitted. I believe there are some shale wells permitted and I believe being drilled around 4 miles to the SW of your survey. i have been inclined to think that not being far from DeSoto Parish is also a good sign.

FWIW, recent dealings with Newfield (or at least their representative that we dealt with in another area in Shelby) indicates to me that they may be offering considerably less than other operators. How pliant they are when faced with determination and good evidence, I do not know - we were able to find a different company to deal with.
You have several operators around your survey:

Newfield has a unit permitted to the northwest (PDU "A" #1H) less than 2 miles away and one to the west 2.75 miles (West Huxley Deep Unit GG #1H) which was the vertical discovery well for the Shelbyville Deep Unit (Haynesville Shale) field now consolidated into the Carthage (Haynesville Shale) field.

Marathon has a permit for the Doyle Boles #K 1H to the southeast 2.5 miles and the USA Double H #1H to the southwest 3.2 miles.

XTO has the Crimson Tide DU #1H permitted to the southwest 5.5 miles.

Common Resources is drilling the Morrison #1H to the southwest 6 or 7 miles.

Samson Lone Star has three permits. Two to the northwest about 6 miles and one to the east, southeast 5 miles.

EOG completed the Ellington-Ellora #1H to the west about 6 miles and reported an IP of 7.3327 MMcfd.

This map has a star in the approximate center of the C.M. Hill survey. All distances are approximate to that star.

jffree1,

Sorry if I haven't been paying enough attention.... What is the key for the various colored well icons that you use on these cool maps?
White is a permit
Teal (or whatever color that is) is drilling
Red with a star is finished drilling and waiting on an IP
Red with a letter is completed and reported... letter = 1st letter of operator name.
Blue is vertical (dot) or directional (diamond).
Anything with a star is horizontal.

You didn't miss anything ledlights... I've never posted the entire map or the key.
Thanks for the map and explanation.
I don't recall anyone asking your opinion... which I value about the same.
J R --what your point with such SARCASTIC remark to jfreel1??????????? If you think the above is useless maybe you should go find you another web site or maybe another world
For the sake of avoiding a cyber brawl lets just assume JR Ewing was attempting to be funny. That being the case; he failed miserably...
Well, I agree and that was one of the worst failures I've ever seen, reallyoldguy.
Should be able to get at least 2K for that joke in Shelby county. Miss Ellie, what are these people whinin' about?
its hard to cope when others can't see the big picture....anyway, i got it and it was really good...LOL
