This one is permitted as a Carthage/Haynesville well drilling to 12,500.

It's currently a 40 acre unit/vertical well, however - which makes this an interesting one to watch.

Could be a test well, or perhaps targeting something other than the stated zone????
I have a silly question. Last summer we found out that we have 28 mineral acres in the Thomas Lewellyn Survey A-447. Needless to say I was ecstatic when I say this thread and quickly dug out the info that we got last summer from Family Tree. After reading every word, it only states 28 mineral acres in A-447 but does not mention any information as to where in A-447 it is located. In the legal description is does state described in Deed from Robie Koonce dated March 1946 in vol and page #.

How does one find out where their mineral acres are located inside the survey?
You would have to go back through the deed records to find a legal description of the tract. You can't figure out where it is until you get that. The deed referenced by family tree most likely will have that description. If not, it should reference an earlier deed. Eventually you will find one with full description and then you can plat it out or give me a shout and I can do it for you.
