Are you talking about the well drilled on Plum Creek Lands, in the SE of S16, T23N, R2E?  It  is part of a 4 section prospect; i.e., Sections 16, 17, 20 & 21.  Our interest are in Section 21 and to date there has been no drilling activity that we know of in Sections 17, 20 & 21.  The Section 16 well, located about 300 feet from the dividing line between Sections 16/21, has been completed, but we do not know of test data or when and if it the ultimate owner intends to be place it in production.  Would be interested in any information out there and any known plans to drill in Sections 17, 20 & 21.  We leased to SKYLAR and felt that we were treated fairly and their rep was straight forward and to the point, answering all of our questions and concerns to our satisfaction.  We would lease to SKYLAR again, if the opportunity presented itself.

I'm not sure of the section, township or range of the well.... I just heard that they had completed a vertical well north of Marion and that they are continuing to lease in the area. Hoping someone more familiar with sonris could look up the results...

thank you!

The Sklar Exploration EXXONMOBIL 16 is permitted as a Wildcat (no field) in Section 16 - 23N - 2E, Union Parish.  The last report was that the rig had reached total depth and that 5 1/2" casing had been set to 8806'. No further reports since January.

Thanks Skip!

Is this a joint venture between Sklar and Exxon or is Sklar just the driller for this well??

I think that this is Sklar as operator drilling on an Exxon lease.  In other words this is Sklar's well although Exxon certainly has a Working Interest.  Likely some kind of farm out agreement.

Probally exxon minerals or an old exxon lease.

My guess if a farmout, with an override.

This well released its data last week, check out SONRIS

this is a vertical well, correct?? thanks!
Yes, vertical  And producing from a 43' vertical section.  Baron, can you speak to the gravity of the oil?

Thanks! think they will come back and go horizontal for a frac with this one?

are there any other permitted wells by sklar in the area? what about any other operators?

thanks for your help in answering these questions!!

IMO, this well, if economic, is marginally so.  If it's a test well, it may be sufficiently productive to support a horizontal well attempt.  It is extremely difficult to extrapolate this completion data to the potential of a horizontal well.  My reason for posing my question concerning gravity to The Baron is that a gravity below 40 indicates heavy oil which is harder to refine and therefor less valuable.  A gravity reading of 23.6 seems quite low to me but I'm a landman with limited knowledge in the value of oil based on gravity.
