Marilyn, let me invite you to join the new group Cass County. Hopefully the group will consist of people that have intrests in Northwest La and Northeast Texas. By combineing our thoughts and information we should be in a better position concerning the Haynesville and other Oil and Gas plays in our area. Marilyn, I have mineral interests further to the West off Highway 49. About 4 miles from the border.The lease bonus they offered you is double what they offered to me in Apr 2008. If you are not in need of the money immediately you might consider waiting to see if other OG companies contact you. 170 acres is a good size and desirable. One of my parcels (618 acres Marion County) my mineral interest are quite small and the Lease hounds are starting to contact me. Regards Carl Goetting

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
