This rig is in Dimmit County about 10 miles SE of Big Wells.

Lucky you to have a rig on your property.  At least you should get rig rent.

Nice picture!

But not really close... I drive by several well locations, where if the rig had fallen while they were drilling, it'd crushed homes.  Talk about the absolute minimum distance to a dwelling kind of close.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
