Bossier Residents Cash in on the Haynesville Shale

Some Bossier Parish residents could become $8,000 dollars richer. Many Dogwood South community members have decided to sign over their mineral rights to cash in on the Haynesville Shale. People who live in area say their Homeowners Association made a deal with Twin Cities Development. They tell KTAL if 90 percent of their community members sign over their rights each resident who signs will receive more than $8,000 per acre. One resident says he recently signed his name on the dotted line. Mark Patten, Dogwood South Resident, says, "Everybody likes a little money especially with gas prices the way they are so I think that’s the main reason everybody is doing it." Patten says residents have until mid July to participate. If less than 90 percent of the community signs up the amount of money will decrease.
