Are any of the oil companies running any type of BHP/BHT monitring devices downhole while they are fracing? From my understanding that some of the horizontal well are getting multistage fracs, and want to question that if the oil companies would monitor their fracs, would they gain any vital information.

There is no need for this type data. We know pressures and temperatures before the frac starts. All horizontials are stage jobs. We are monitor the fracs while each stage is being pumped.

Google "micriseismic and you can learn all about it. Pretty great technology.

A company called Micro Seismic has a setup for frac monitoring from ground level. They seem to be a pretty popular outfit with several E&P's.

I talked to a guy that drills for a living and he said there are devices they use to monitor every inch of the drill process. It is such a delicate, intricate, and expensive process that extreme measures are taken to ensure they get their desired results. The devices they use for monitoring gives them a wealth of needed information.
