Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |

Hi, Susan. Sorry but I didn't see your message until just the other day. You asked about the Sentell Field. I have had a mineral interest in Sections 5, 7 & 8-T19N-R13W for many years, going back to the time the field produced from the Bodcaw. The last well in which I had an interest ceased producing in 2008. Southern Star Operating Company took leases on land in the Field in 2006 and a number of wells were completed by Southern Star Energy, Inc.(which acquired the leases) on units established for the Cotton Valley in Sections 7,8 and 18 (and on other units). In the latter part of 2008 and the first part of 2009 SS formed 6 units for the HA consisting of Sections 7,8,16,17,18 & 20. As it turned out SS was clearly a "promoter." It sent out press releases making great claims for its forthcoming HA wells. As far as I know one well was drilled to the HA, in Section 16. It was never completed. An Australian bank, Macquire Bank, acquired the leases by foreclosure and payments for production are being made by Keba Energy LLC, which, I believe, is operating the leases in behalf of Macquire Bank. I had wondered (before the decline in prices), whether the leases might be acquired by a company with the idea of horizontal drilling in the CV. I thought it doubtful then and certainly there is less of a possibility now. Out of curiosity, what is your interest in the Field? Let me know if you know or come to know of anything interesting. I will do likewise for you. Neilson
