Pam we are getting offers as well. Sometimes as many as 5-8 a week. I’m certainly not considering them “ larger” as it would take a lot more zeros for a consideration on my part. However I am curious if others are receiving offers as well. My rights are in downtown Carthage, Downtown Beckville and from Beckville out towards FairPlay on both sides of the Hwy. I curious about the lithium brine extraction and what it might bring our way. I’m always open to extraction! Have you been approached about the brine ?
Pam, I suspect that the offers you have received for your Panola minerals are related to the Haynesville Shale. Many units are not fully developed and older wells have declined. The lack of development means that the bulk of reserves are intact. And old wells can serve to hold leases until companies are ready to drill more wells. Not many new wells are being drilled currently at $2 gas.
There are a lot of mineral companies that are making offers with little knowledge of the geology or the prospective nature of minerals by specific location. I find them making offers that make no sense. Of course if you signaled that you were or might be a willing seller, they could do more detailed research. When that happens, they sometimes realize their mistake and withdraw the offer.
In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near…
