Here is what I know. I live just outside Benton near Black Bayou lake. That is the small lake near Cypress Lake. I teach Science( Biology, Earth Science) in Plain Dealing. I keep up with the geology for class purposes.
There will be a meeting in the high school gym Saturday night at 6. The meeting was set up by a former Ast. Principal, She lives in PD. I will not be there. There is something cooking there, but very low key.
In Benton some leasing is going on but not at the level that is happening further south. The ten wells planned are only 3-4 miles from my house. The well to watch will be drilled in about 3 months. I will be a 12,500 ft test. Several of my neighbors have gotten letters but no leases. We are waiting. Our church leased in June for $5,000.
Let me know if I can be of help. I will be starting back to school in mid Aug.
