Anyone know of any that have ever produced? If so how well do they do. Are they fairly consistent like resource plays or more hit and miss.

Thanks for any info.

North LA, coal seam gas (CSG) or coal bed methane (CBM) is considered to be a resource play. Check the internet for San Juan Basin CBM or Powder River Basin CBM which are both huge plays. Australia and China also have large CSG plays.
Wyoming's powder river basin has been producing gas for a long time and Kansas has a lot of CBM production in the Cherokee Basin. It is shallow with several different seams to produce from. The viablility of CBM is hugely dependent on gas prices. Gas needs to be north of $6-7mcf to make most plays work.
Thanks for the reply Les B and Wildcat.
