i think you are making a very smart decision gizbeau. good for you. i bet you make some serious cash within the year.
Thanks, I hope so but not getting any hopes up on it being within a year, it has been really slow around here on the Shale game. I do believe we are within good shale so we should be worth more than they are saying. I haven't heard or seen any activity around here as for any rigs moving in but who knows there's alot of acreage behind us that's timber companies like Bethard and Edgar Cason's and I figure there being a pipeline a 1/4 mile from us would be a plus, I hope so anyway.
Gizbeau, you aren't referring to the Texas Eastern P/L are you?
I heard 200 acres were leased In 11n-8w just yesterday, 7500/acre 25% by Chespk I think they said ??
damn, that would be really good news, if true. especially if its chesapeake. that would make competition for the area. encana has been the only company in this area so far.

great news.....if true
I ask if they were sure it was not encana? They said no , they thought it was Chespk. They also said the people would not receive a check for 3 months??? This I questioned because I would want my money upon signing. I also ask if they were sure it was not a letter of intent? The person didn't know. I certainly hope it is true in any case, would be a positive for the people up there. I guess you will know when the leases hit the Natchitoches court house.
Do you know what section in 11-8?
Don't know the section, but it would be around the old school.
This area has been quiet for awhile.....Any new information on leasing in 11N 8W? Thanks for any info....
I have property in T11 R8. Everything I know about O&G companies I learned on this site. With that being said, I don't see leasing coming back anytime soon. I know a few people accepted Encana's lowball offer back in the summer of 2008 and if their acreage is large enough, Encana may try to hold some sections. We just have to be patient. Pay attention to what's going on in townships 11-9, 12-9, and 12-8.
Thanks for your input. We have mineral interest on 600 acres in this area so it is a large amount and I thought someone might be leasing considering the amount of wells going up in Red River and it is right across the line between Red River and Natchitoches.
Lynn. I suggest that you begin tracking Haynesville related development now. Go to the SONRIS Help Center group page and download a few township grids and familiarize yourself with the SONRIS Lite database. You should have a grasp of the basics of the play and an awareness of the activity that is proximal to your mineral interest. When development activity approaches or you get an offer, you should be prepared to engage the services of an experienced O&G attorney. Good Luck.
