LLS, I believe the following would be your Haynesville Unit and section. By the way, you are inside Petrohawk's "core" area.

LLS, yes that is good news. Petrohawk should drill and complete a well in your section in the next 1-2 years.
what does s10-t11n-r9w red river parish ( prospect look like )
Charles, that section is outside Petrohawk's core area for the Haynesville Shale but EnCana shows that it should be productive in both the Haynesville Shale and Bossier Shale. There has not been any announced drilling results for that township.

Based on completion data listed in the Shreveport Times on May 23, it appears that several wells in 11N-12W, 11N-13W, and 10N-13W were completed in the Haynesville by CHK, Encana, or others in the 15,000+/day range. This does not jive with the Petrohawk isopach map - further, Jay's comment concerning pinchout in N. Sabine is stated for a reason - is there a defining N/S border line where such occurs? I assume it's at least south of the CHK La Minerals well in Sec. 24-10N-13W since it was completed in the HS?? Or, are these described as HS when, in fact, they are actually Bossier completions? Just curious as to whether there is both HS and Bossier or just one? If both, then the HK maps seem inconsistent with the latest data and completion reports.
Mattie, the confusion is that the Haynesville Zone includes both the Bossier Shale and Haynesville Shale formations. Unless the operator states the specific formation for a completion it is difficult, if not impossible, to determine which formation is being produced. Having said that, EnCana and others clearly map the Haynesville Shale extending further south and southeast than Petrohawk. EnCana also specifically identifies some producing Haynesville Shale wells that fall outside Petrohawk's limits including two 17 MMcfd wells - one in Sabine Parish and one in Red River Parish. Personally I will go with EnCana's view in some areas because they have drilled and completed more wells in the southern portion of the Haynesville Shale play than Petrohawk.
according to this it looks like south sabinr and natchitoches are out of the hunt?

Based on the logs you've read, can you offer up an opinion on what areas might have both Haynesville and Bossier formations that are economic? I.e., where might we actually see the ultimate factory of 16 wells/section?
Bob, Petrohawk maps T10N-R10W outside the Haynesville Shale "core" area. EnCana maps T10N-R10W to be productive in the Haynesville Shale and they are currently drilling a Haynesville Shale test in T10N-R9W. EnCana also maps T10N-R10W to be potentially productive in the Bossier Shale. I will go with EnCana's interpretation since they are the only company to have actually drilled a Haynesville Shale well in Natchitoches Parish.
Where does T17n R13w s34 fit in the map?
