I have posted under "NO BONUS MONEY FOR US" prior to this. I know for a fact Goodrich has dug the pit for a well in our sec, twnship, and range. After 2 landmen previously reneged on us, we have been approached by 2 more landmen. The one with whom I spoke said he was "instructed by his co. to lease our property" even after I told him Goodrich has already started the groundwork for a well. I don't know that we are held by production because the well doesn't have a spud date yet and they have not "produced" any natural resources from the ground....the geological definition for production. Anyway, we may get some bonus money yet. Our lease expires in 15 days. I'm wondering if anyone else in our section has been approached recently. Most of our section was leased earlier in the year, before the big HS hooplah, for hundreds not thousands of dollars.

What is the Township/ Range
Sec. 28, 19N, 15W
Do you know anything about section 28 -16n 15W? Looks like they have a pit but no activitiy. Was wondering if anything might happen soon or if everything is on hold for a while.
Buzzy,
Since I wrote that e-mail we have re-leased for decent bonus bucks...would rather not quote the amount but it's 5-figure range. Goodrich has started a rig....it was on the front page of the Inquisitor...of all places. Richard Bonhert is the man to whom we sold our property but retained the mineral rts. That's is Sec. 28, 19N, 15W. Not sure about 16N, 15W. Is that where you have mineral rts. ?
Look up info on "sonrislite" website. It looks like they plugged and abandoned a well in 1991 and got a permit for a 2nd one on 9-15-2008. No spud date for the latter well. J Todd

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
