We leased to Harold Anderson in 2007. Land near Flat Fork Creek and US 96.  Our lease had a provision that we were to be notified prior to any assignment.  We have since discovered that the lease has gone through 5 different companies.  The lease is do tor renewal/expiration mid November.  We have heard nothing from anyone.  Our cousins have the adjoining acerage, their renewal date has passed and they have heard nothing.  Has anyone else had similar dealings with Harold Anderson?

Bryan-- sounds like he was lease flipper. If your cousins adjoining acreage lease expires sounds like your lease will expire also which is OK then next time if get lease offer use all the knowledge from this site and only lease to operator who has the money, knowledge, and skills to drill a deep H well. Do you know what company presently has ownership of your lease?
I signed with them and my lease expired this month, I called and they gave me the number for Playa Oil and Gas in Houston, who told me they would contact the the lease holder to have them file releases for all of the leases in that area. I believe some company like Delta Drilling ended up with the leases. Playa Oil's number is 832-533-9655. Maybe someone else will show some interest now.
Anderson sold to Playa
Playa sold a portion to Delta Petroleum
Playa sold an overide to Kornegay
Playa sold a portion to Bison Ranch
Bison Ranch sold to Delta Petroleum
Wrong, Anderson worked for Playa, assigned to Playa. Playa kept an override than assigned to Delta, Delta than assigned part to Bison Ranch (subsid of Petrohawk) than Delta went belly up, and assigned all to Bison, Bison assigned all to Petrohawk. Why don't you call Petrohawk and ask them if they planning drilling the western area?
Bison did not assin all to Petrohawk. I counted 48 lessors on document 2009007842, Bison to Delta, that do not appear on 201008509, Bison to Petrohawk.
What is the document you mention and where do you go to see it?
The document numbers are in the above reply, go to: http://cc.co.shelby.tx.us/, click on "I Accept", click "Search Real Estate Index", on the left, @ Party Name enter Bison Ranch then click Grantor. On the new screen there are two documents listed, click on the Image icon at the far right of the document you are interested in. Use the zoom button to enlarge and slide up/down to read the page. Near the bottom left there are a left/right buttons (< >), the right button takes you to the next page of the document.
Thanks, that is an interesting web site. I am on 2009007842 and not on 201008509.
Bison is Petrohawk, check it out
I was on the internet earlier today and found that Bison Ranch is just one of the many Petrohawk subsidaries.
1: Delta Petroleum might be the stupidest publicly traded company (non Pink Sheet) company in the E & P sector.
In 2007-2008 it was on par with KWK, XCO. Now, it barely is a microcap. The company is swole like a tick full of retards; you can see them at NAPE every spring -- usually trying to liquidate bad assets bought at bad prices.

2. Harold J. Anderson is not a lease flipper, but a large and legitimate broker out of the greater New Orleans area.
