the south arkansas horizontal well results

deltic stock is going nuts i guess because they have such a huge

mineral interest in the brown dense area and the leasing companies

are still going full bore so i would conclude that the well is a smoker.

anyone else have any insight?

NORTH LA,  THIS IS VERY REMINISCENT OF HUNT OIL IN VERY EARLY 50'S  DRY HOLE. DRY HOLE, DRY HOLE. THEN CARTER OIL CAME IN. WELL, WELL, WELL.  OF COURSE THE O&G COMPANIES WOULD LIKE THE WHOLE WORLD TO BE IN ONE UNIT WHICH THEY CONTROLLED.  fORTUNATELY MOST OF MY LAND IS IN nORTH sHONGALOO-rED rOCK fIELD AND AS FAR AS I KNOW WE DO NOT HAVE PROBLEM WITH H2S. AT LEAST IN WELLS I OWN INTEREST IN.

Your latest posting was most illuminating and very perceptive in my opinion. Misinformation abounds. Until I can get on derrick floor, or at least on location I put at least a few grains of salt on it. On many locations I have been surprised at how little some crew members know. On the other hand some do know a lot. But they may not talk to outsiders. It always pays off to get to know them anyway. I always try to talk to onsite man who is giving the orders. And if I have working interest I will spend lot of time watching computer screen  with him for both drilling and fracking.

 

Once again thank you for starting Smackover site.Hope to meet you in a few weeks.

The writer says that Southwestern is a utility company, but their website says they are primarily an oil and gas exploration company headquartered in Houston and heavily involved in the Fayetteville Shale play. Anyway, Looking for Results sounds a lot like Gayle Witherspoon on this site, in their prophecies of doom for the Brown Dense play. Looking for Results claims to be an industry insider, but who the heck knows.

 He's getting them mixed up with SWEPCO which is owned by AEP. AEP is a HUGE multistate utilities company but Southwestern energy (SEPCO) is not. Southwestern is a respectable O&G company focused on natural gas, but they don't have the "deep pockets" this guy is talking about. He speaks with authority but he doesn't seem to know what he's talking about. That's a red flag.

Here is their capital plan for 2010. They put all of their money into the Fayettevill shale That is unless they hid a lot of Cap ex plans which I'm sure the SEC and the investors would love to hear about. But what do I know, maybe AEP is going to get into drilling.

Mr. Sanders...you are correct with your buyer/seller beware comment.  Most things that are posted on this site are hersey and are opinions.  I would say to anyone that they should beware of every post on this site since just about all post are either an opinion or are second, third and even fourth hand (maybe even more) information.  I have never posted anything and said this is gospel!  Everything that I have posted has been stated as "what I have heard is..."  I have also posted a few bits of advice and I bet if you looked at them in the context of everything, you would agree with them.  I am sorry if I refuse to disclose my identity and that makes you uncomfortable, but in truth we are all sitting behind some screen someplace without real identity.  Why does it make me be someone that is put in quotations for the word "friends"?  I am not sure what I did to get under the skin of all of you except only say what it is that I have heard.  Even if the Brammer well is abandoned, do you think that that will keep the group that Pinebelt is leasing for from drilling a well?  Do you think that JW will no longer drill the well that they have planned because of the lack of "commercial success" that the Brammer well had?  Probably not.  Just as the group engaged in the drilling activity for the Brammer well were not deterred by what came of the lack of success EOG had with their well, another well may very well be drilled to test this idea.  I did not post the information that I posted to cause you to become irritated, I just posted what was told to me by a group that I belong to.  My information may not be accurate, but it is what my "sources" confirmed to me.  Perhaps you guys could check into my information before of accussing me of some of the things you have.  But, I know, when you choose to remain annonymous it causes concern.  For that I can't fault you.

Just to be clear, I did not state that Triad or anyone else was leasing for SWN.  I have been unable to find out who Triad and Pinebelt are leasing for.

Can some help me "read between the lines" here?  This was thought to be into the Smackover - correct?  49bbl / 137 mcf -- a success story?  Temporarily abandon?  I don't know all this "stuff".  Thanks for any enlightment!

Given the depth, horz. drilling, and expensive completion, and the reports of high H2S, 49bbls and 137 mcf/day is not generaly economic.

Bonanza Creek Energy is planning a gas processing plant in Columbia County, AR in the Dorcheat Macedonia field.  I could not find an announcement from Bonanza Creek but the following link indicates that they are pursuring the plant.

The Bussey brown dense well is in the same general area.  I wonder if the new plant might play a role in what happens to the Bussey well.
