Robby,
The last time I let seismic exploration take place on my property, they drilled holes and set off charges. That was 30 years ago and they paid by the hole, $25.
Losing your royalties? Tell that company rep to explain in writing on how your royalties will be lost if you don't let them access your property.
I would guess the $15/acre is a payment for letting them cross your property. If you only have a few acres, they may need to cross it to complete their scan. Ask them.
In the old days, a lot of folks had water wells and didn't want seismic operations to foul up their water or completely ruin the water well. I had an e-mail from Jay Frantz a href="mailto:jayfrantz@cajunexploration.com">jayfrantz@cajunexploration.com> at Cajun Exploration. He said that CE has no activity in Louisiana.

After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
