Skip's post Oil and Gas News Locations & Completions for April 30 lists the following permit for Natchitoches Parish followed by his comment below. This is potentially very exciting news for the area.
Brammer Engineering Inc, Olympia Minerals, 001, Sec. 16, T8N, R8W, Wildcat, 4850' MD, Eagle Ford Shale.
"And it is permitted as an oil well. I think there may be some leasing activity associated with this permit. Natchitoches members should watch this well."
Can anyone elaborate further on the matter at this point, or are we in for yet more suspense?

Thanks for responding. The map was generated from the SONRIS database, right? If so, a typo should not be possible, as no one, literally, typed that in on that map. I assume that the map just populates with the numbers extracted from the database. And, if so, the SONRIS people need to be aware that they got a bug in their software.
The Natchitoches Tax Assessor's web site shows the following owners for Sect 16 T7n R7w:
Timberlands. LLC, Shreveport owns 40 acres
George Gardiner, Jr. owns 40 acres
Gould Investments, Inc. Ringgold, La owns 40 acres
Grigsby Investment Co., Inc. owns 2 forty acre tracts
Natch. Parish School Board owns 400 acres.
Ermadell Tate, et al, 2660 Johnson Chute Rd., Natch., La owns 40 acres
In the Tate property,Betty T. Hopkins donates her interest to others
Don't know if any sold mineral rights.
Anyone know if this is the property in the unit? What timber company is being mentioned as the owner?
