Peterbilt Motors added a second shift to the Denton, TX Plant to provide for the orders of LNG and Compressed Natural gas trucks. Heckmann Corp., Palm Desert, CA. ordered 200 trucks which are used by his company to provide water-handling operations involved in oil and shale-gas exploration. Heckmann teamed up with EnCana to make refueling services available. These 200 trucks will be used for the Eagle Ford Shale natural gas and oil field in South Texas., replacing his fleet of Diesel trucks.

Peterbilt has received seperate orders from other companies for 180 and 50 LNG trucks. They offer LNG and compressed ng version models.

Westport Innovations - based in Vancouver, Canada is the provider of the engines. Very interesting web-site.

More Jobs and More Awareness.

Zydeco, actually I believe the 200 Heckmann trucks are targeted for the Haynesville Shale region.  I even heard a rumor earlier this month regarding the planned source of the LNG fuel supply.

Yes that would be great. I was condensing an article from the DFW newpaper, very happy for Denton TX with more jobs.  I hope it is also for the Haynesville region too ! with lots more Trucks being produced.

The Westport Innovations.... I am partical to a Cummins engine, as this company is producing those for LNG.

Have a lot of friends that drive Semi's from Peterbilt Motors, it would bring many more fueling stations, jobs, proof that it is more economical to use LNG or Compressed NG..

thank you LesB and Sesport II for the good find of the article.

Oh gosh that's great news Zydeco! clapping smilie goes here.

And thank you for posting the Data Center Sesport.

Les, I wish you were my irl friend.  You are awesome!
