Any offers S of Many?

I received a phone call today from someone purportedly representing Suncoast, who was interested in the lease status of some property in T4N-R11W.    He was very non-committal:   just "gathering information"; "possibly future negotiations"; "we may get back to you", etc.

He made absolutely no concrete statements or offers.

Has anyone else in this area been approached in similar manner?   By Suncoast or any other entity?

They will cut you out of the unit if you are not leased. Voluntary units are created by the lease contract, so if you are un-leased then you are not volunteering to become part of  the unit.

Any word yet on the following Sabine Parish TMS well 244108 VUA;ZAP MINERALS?

I received notice from Justiss that they have assigned portions of my lease as follows:

TDX Energy, Shreveport, LA:   18.75%

TED Wyoming Trust, c/o Southern Management Services, Irving, TX:   6.25 %

Houston Energy, L P, Houston, TX:   5%

So, what do you take that as signifying - that Justiss needs partners to finish the well - or what?

I don't know what to make of it.   As I understand it, this is a bit of a wildcat venture, so they may have sold part of their interest to reduce their at-risk amount.   Or perhaps, their new partners may have made them an offer they couldn't refuse.

I would not know of the assignment, except that I have a lease clause which requires them to notify me.  If I remember, I'll give Justiss a call next week and ask them.

Will be interesting to find out what they have to say since the well is temporarily plugged and abandoned at 9280 feet, I believe, as of the last SONRIS update.

Tom,

My property is in 14-4N-11W.  SONRIS does not show any activity in that section since 1974.  Unless the well is off-set, so it would not show up at all.

The well is in section 23 - here is a report from Houston Energy:

Hornbeck Prospect (Eagleford), Sabine Parish

Justiss Oil Company reached total depth and logged the #1 Zap Minerals in December 2011.  A ninety foot conventional core was taken across the Eagleford interval.  Preliminary results of the log and core analysis indicate the presence of hydrocarbons.  Upon delivery of the XRD and SEM core analysis, the well will be plugged back and drilled horizontally for approximately 4500’ and a multi-stage frac will be performed.  Houston Energy and its partners have a significant lease position in the Eagleford trend in Central Louisiana with multi-well potential.

Very, very interesting!   Thank you!

The announcement of the assignments was made in late December.

BTW, the well is not "Plugged and Abandoned".   It is plugged, pending the arrival of a new rig to drill the horizontal(s).   NOT abandoned.

I suppose P&A is the SONRIS terminology used even when temporarily plugged awaiting further action.  Looks like the surface location is section 23 heading north horizontally to section 14.

Had a couple of short emails from a representative from Houston Energy. Here are his comments regarding the current status of the Sabine Parish- Hornbeck  play:

1) We have driled the well to about 9200' and moved the rig off pending core analysis/geological evaluation.  When this data is received, we will make a decision to frac the well as it is configured now, re-enter and drill horizontally, or plug it. (3-13-2012)

2) We have received some of our data (from the core analysis) , but not all.  At this time we will continue to monitor trend activity, which is moving closer to our well, but will not immediately drill a horizontal lateral. (3-14-2012)

I have received yet another email from the same Houston Energy rep. I am encouraged by what the core analysis suggests is in their find, just a little disappointed in the time frame in which it will get to market. Anyway, this is what he had to say:

After a thorough review of the data in the Zap Minerals well, we have decided to wait on activity to come to us.  There is oil and gas present, but Justiss feels it is best from an infrastructure/pipeline standpoint to have the wells and subsequent infrastructure move closer (3/29/2012
