Encana Going with Cross Unit Laterals for Optimum Drainage

Per Encana this will allow for drainage at section line areas and will allow for future 10,000' laterals.  Very interesting development in my opinion.

I also upload the attached.  Dated February, 2011, it suggests the Louisiana Office of Conservation is or may be listening to industry pressure to change the rules so as to permit cross-unit horizontal drilling as more of a norm.  Would be a very interesting question to ask our LOC

And, I surmise from the attached that the pressure on the LOC is constant and imminent.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
