First XTO (ExxonMobil) Haynesville Units in Natchitoches Parish (8/4/10)

XTO (ExxonMobil) joins other operators in Natchitoches Parish by proposing five (5) new Haynesville Units in the San Miguel Creek Field. This is an additional positive sign for the southern potion of the Haynesville/Bossier Shale play. We will just have to see long before ExxonMobil permits and drills a well.

You can google Forestry Consultants in Central La and review a long list of responses. When I wanted this in Lincoln Par I found several in Ruston yellow pages, called for bid for timber cruse with view for soliciting bids for sale. Got great results and all the help I needed. Good luck

Thanks Mike

ALso, has anyone seen any activity on the Birdwell Well in Sect 22; T10N; R10W

The SONRIS Lite Menu says that as of 10-14 the well is waiting on completion. Does this mean that fracking is complete? Well head is in place? Or, are they still needing to install downstream infrastructure before gas metering can begin? Thanks

It means it's not fracked yet.  Fracking the well is basically the last major operation before the well is reported complete.

Thanks Skip

Do you know if there are any other wells in the vacinity that are producing and at what rate? Also, in there a general time frame that must pass before fracking starts? Thanks

Pamela, the following wells in the area were tested by Samson:

Samson, Walker 18 #H1 Well, Serial #242961, S7(18)-T10N-R10W, Natchitoches Parish, 10578 Mcfd, 16/64" Choke, 9500 psi Flowing Pressure

Samson, Blue 8 #H1 Well, Serial #241934, S8-T10N-R10W, Natchitoches Parish, 14953 Mcfd, 22/64" Choke, 7300 psi Flowing Pressure

Pamela, the information posted on Sonris can be late so it is possible completions operations could have occurred.

The sequence for well completion is as follows:

a) Perform fracture stimulation (frac'ing)

b) Drill out plugs between each frac stage

c) Flow back well (typically to gas sales pipeline)

Normally operators will not perform Steps b & c until all downstream infrastucture has been installed.  But in a few cases they may conduct Sep c in advance by flaring the gas a short time period and then shut in the well until downstream infrastructure has been installed.  There can be a lengthy time gap between Steps a & b.

Pamela, no and no.  XTO has not announced any HA well in the vicinity complete.  There is no way to know when a well is fracked in real time unless a member lives in the area and alerts us.

Thanks Skip

You've been a great help

Pam,

In section 22, Birdwell well, the frack trucks are on location and fracking is in progress

Pam,

This well was flared as of Wednesday morning and the flame was/is huge.

With 3D seismic surveying going on in adjacent sections, the Acadian pipeline open for business as of November 1, and reports such as this, could it be the southeasterly fringe may be about to see a new round of leasing activity!

I've been looking for some indication of current leasing activity in the Natchitoches Clerk's records and have not found any.  XTO in particular has not filed any new leases in many months.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
