First XTO (ExxonMobil) Haynesville Units in Natchitoches Parish (8/4/10)

XTO (ExxonMobil) joins other operators in Natchitoches Parish by proposing five (5) new Haynesville Units in the San Miguel Creek Field. This is an additional positive sign for the southern potion of the Haynesville/Bossier Shale play. We will just have to see long before ExxonMobil permits and drills a well.

Bob, thanks for the update on the well status.  It is difficult to predict when XTO may perform the fracture stimulation of this well since they have not completed any other wells in the area and it is unclear if connections are yet available to downstream ntural gas infrastructure (pipelines & treating plants).
The rig in section 22 is rigging down today and moving to a well pad in section 32. It will directional drill the permitted well in section 29 from this location.
I spoke with a person today that said the fracking process would likely start within two weeks.
Thanks Bob for your update. I will be checking the site weekly for any updates on this well. Does your contact know if infrastructure will proceed for this well for downstream pipelines or treating plants?
Landowners are now beginning to receive permit agreements for 3-D seismic surveying in section 23.
I am in section 29 and have received this request.  Does anyone know what this is for or who it is for?  Just wondering.   My request has $15/acre offer and $1/acre for "pre-determined timber damage".   It seems to me any damage to any tree would be worth more that $1 and what would they be doing that would damage my trees.

illinigirlnow,

CGG Veritas has a 3-D seismic survey scheduled for 55 square miles in and around T10N R10W, Natchitoches Parish. This is activity slated for completion, and the landowners paid, by 1-1-2012.

It is my understanding that a 3-D seismic shoot provides a picture of the earth much like an MRI gives of the body. The earths strata are given volume and can be strategically peeled away for viewing. This allows the driller to pinpoint the most favorable areas to explore.

The most likely sponsor of this investigative activity is Exxon.  They presently have rigs running in the area.

I would guess that the request you received has a typo. It should read $15 per acre for access and $10 for damages.

My wife has 80 acres in 14-9-10.  She received the offer from CGG Veritas for $15 per acre and $10 per acre for damages.  Also, does anyone know of any actual leasing activity in this area?

Is any information becoming available yet regarding the seismic shoot results?

Have found out the actual seismic shoot is just now getting underway with equipment being brought into the area as of the first week of January, so results are obviously yet to come.

Mike R. I received the same letter and I'm wanting to know if you were able to get CGG Veritas to agree to the "$350 per acre and mechantable timber can be worth a lot (especially mature pine saw timber). I'm asking for the $25 per acre, plus reforestation costs (I retain ownership of merchantable timber that must be cut so that I can sell it)." I would love the same deal for my property if they agreed to those conditions with you. Thanks
I am wanting to have my land surveyed for timber evaluation. Does anyone know of a timber company in this parrish that I can call for an evaluation? Thanks

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling
