Damn! A brilliant PR move.  This will make him a bigger hero.  Josh Fox, the Gasland filmmaker is the guy who is most responsible for spreading false information about natural gas.

I appreciate the work of responsible environmentalists. I want natgas to be safe. But, this guy exaggerates to such an extreme that industry does not take him seriously - however, the news media and much of the public does.  That's not good for natural gas.  We need to get more scientists in the media - the vast majority of scientists who have examined fracking believe it is, or can be, done safely.

"A year ago, Josh Fox was getting suited up for the Academy Awards. On Wednesday, he found himself in cuffs.

The Oscar-nominated activist-director of the documentary “Gasland” was arrested on Capitol Hill for trying to film a hearing without proper media credentials. Staffers say Fox declined an order by House Science, Space and Technology subcommittee chairman Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) to turn off his camera.

“This was an act of civil disobedience, yes, done in an impromptu fashion,” said Fox in an emailed statement later. “When I was led out of the hearing room in handcuffs, John Boehner’s pledge of transparency in Congress was taken out with me.”

Fox’s “Gasland” chronicled the environmental impact of natural gas drilling — he’s opposed to it — on small communities. The same topic was at hand in Wednesday’s hearing."

Rebuttal to "Gasland" coming soon:

Phelim McAleer and his wife Ann McElhinney are journalists and documentary filmmakers. You may remember Not Evil Just Wrong (2009), their takedown of Al Gore and Global Warming hysteria.

Now they want to tell the truth about natural gas development and hydraulic fracturing in a full-length documentary titled FrackNation. McAleer says:

FrackNation will skeptically examine some of the scarier claims made by anti-fracking activists and look at how shale gas is helping some of the poorest communities in the US and potentially across the planet. It will feature small farmers, the working class and others who are benefiting from this economic boom. We will look at the backgrounds and motives of those opposing fracking.

Well that's good news to hear about FrackNation.  Never should our president be bowing to a Saudi King!  The resisitance to drilling here in the good ole USA has been astounding.  Yet we  have an administration throwing billons of our tax payer dollars out to green energy companies that go bankrupt or use the money to pay off their own debt. We can't afford this four more years.

There are 12 pages of discussions in the archive concerning Gasland.  Ben there, done that.
