I noticed that also. As the permit was entered in the database today, it will be a few more days before the permit and plat are available. Maybe that will shed some light on the short permitted lateral length.

As was discussed on GHS 2 or 3 months ago, the majority of this L SMK RA SUG unit seems to be Exxon fee land so SWN must have reached some sort of agreement with Exxon-Mobil.

Now look at well location 1st Dean well
2210' FEL & 2308' FSL OF SEC 31.
Only 60 ft apart.
Here is the link to DNR Field Order No. 136-C-4 of Jan 4, 2013, approving L SMK RA SUG. The plat showing the surface location and PBHL of the Dean No. 2 alternate unit well is on page 4, but the PBHL (1005' FSL of Sec. 30) given with the permit of 2/8/13 seems to be somewhat north of what is shown on the plat.

Below is the link to the DNR approval of 2/8/13 of the drilling permit for the Dean No. 2 alternate well in L SMK RA SUG. The plat is on page 6. It's interesting that all of the land listed as Exxon-Mobil on the previous plat is now listed as owned by Plum Creek Timber, but I guess Exxon-Mobil may still own the minerals.
