I heard a rumor last week (from a reliable source) that CN (Canadian National Railroad) is re-activating the rail line through Zachary to haul frack sand to the TMS in MS and the Feliciana's. Anybody hear anything about this?

Aren't we talking about 2 different sections of rail line- this article says the Z line and it is needed for paper mill products ? Is there another section of line running to Centerville that would be used for sand?

It "Y" at Slaughter. One leg goes to the paper mill at Thompson's Creek and the main line continues on to Centerville.
Joe, The rail to centerville is gone, they took it up all from centerville to right out of Slaughter. They are trying to re-open the rail from br to the mill. A business in Slaughter is wanting to make frack sand and he needs the rail line, i also think the mill in st francisville is looking to open the line also, they have been in talks with the state and fema for hurricane recovery money to fix the tracks.
