Has any of the acreage under Toledo Bend been leased? Has there been any interest in anyone's imprescriptible mineral reservation?

I'm not sure that families know that they may have minerals in perpetuity. And I'm not sure I spelled that correctly. I think that when the state or federal govt. "takes" property for any reason the land owner retains minerals. I'm not sure about this. Toledo bend "filled up" when I was in the Far East doing some military duty. Back in the 60's. All those land owners may have some interest. I am going to call some I know. To answer your question, there should be A LOT of interest in that land. My humble opinion. Approximately 186,000 acres. Most of it large timber companies in those days. Families of old property owners need to be informed.
that's right...if the property was taken by the government the original landowner retains the mineral rights I have had that confirmed by a oil and gas attorney. I agree there should be some major interest in the land under the lake!!! Makes things even more interesting!
should one wait to be contacted, or go to the landmen, if you have mineral rights under the lake.
approximately where is your property? I would check its location, Township especially. T8, T9 and T10 are hot right now. T4 has the Donner well to watch. If you are up north have the surround areas been leased? What about the old neighbors who lost property. You might get together with them and get legal counsel.
property is close to the kites landing location, but is underwater, a substantial amount of property.
Remember, the Austin Chalk is just below you in Newton County, Texas and Vernon Parish. Check Burr Ferry South and Burr Ferry North. Keep a close eye on the Donner Well once they get started. You or your family could have very good reason to be alert if you have significant holdings under T-Bend.
If you have an interest in minerals under the lake you will be contacted by landmen. Don't worry that you won't go unleased, the landmen will have the chain of title run and they will find you.
Jonathan: I don't think many are aware of this. I am going to contact a couple of families that I know lost land way back when.
i'm an heir to property under the water in converse---there was a court battle with sabine river authority years ago- she kept her minerals- anything under or on the surface top of her property
How could you find out who own's minereal rights under the water? I would think many would be deceased......their heirs may not know.
I believe the heirs to the deceased are the owners. Most all I knew are now deceased. Many of there heirs may have moved away. I have called a couple that I remember. Suggest others do the same.
This is interesting ! If someone would check and post to the public the names of the owners when the lake came up....could well be a lucrative deal. Lot of people may not know they have an interest. I'm sure i am not the only one who has thought of this.....
