I do not think you would still have the mineral rights because no production occurred within the last 10 years.

Whether purchased or inherited or gifted the surface owner owns the mineral rights after 10 years.

In Louisiana mineral reservations prescribe after 10 years. Doesn't matter the circumstances.

They may not have owned minerals to start with but I guess that could be questioned by a court of law. Nothing is written in stone. Yes you can hold minerals on land that is showing non production and is producing. Crooks are out there and only you can protect yourself.
