Is there someway to find out if a large O/G Co. has made a deal with the smaller Co. who holds the lease. Would this show up on Sonris or would either Co. have to notify the landowner. I know that there is going to be a Siez. run soon and have reason to say it is being done mainly for a bigger Co.

You could possibly find an assignment in the courthouse. You would have to run the name of the small O&G company direct to see if they have assigned it, or run the large O&G company indirect to see if they recieved the lease. A list of leases should be included on the exhibit page of the assignment, look for your lease there.
What information could (or should) one reasonably, expect to find out in our parish courthouse?
Thanks Jim.
