I just got a call from Comstock Resources wanting permission to do a 3D survey paying $25.00 per acre. Can I get an y feedback. I was burned on the lease in March of 08 so i want to be knowledgable on anything I sign. I have 75 acres out of Noble where I am now spending most of my time. I would appreciate any help
Thanks, Dan

if i remember correctly, we got 15.00/acre for our land in desoto so 25 sounds good to me. they paid us the money, did the survey and were gone. the didn't damage our property. the only way you can tell they were there is the flagging that was left behind. the company was cgg vertitas.
Thanks, that helps!
i just met with 2 Comstock reps for same exact deal on my grandma's 65 acres in Noble...we are trying to educate ourselves as well, she was duped by them also.
Are you west or east of noble dan or jennifer?
east
Jinnifer are you near Sardis Cemetary? I hear there is a Hanesville Shale well drilled in that area. Our family place is one or two sections south of there.
Just northwest of pelican (harris 19 area) there is a compound, helicopter and all seismic crew. I am reluctant to post anything i did not hear myself but a friend told me they were primarily looking for oil. I really am not sure what to make of that.
Jennifer what was grandma's name. I was raised here and know most of the landowners or I should say original landown.ers
These days a lot less damage is done by doodle buggers than when I was doing it in the 70s and 80s. If shot holes are drilled on your property demand $100/hole. Buggies are still used for the drilling and timber damage will still be prevalant where drilling is done. Be sure to get damages for timber losses.
Protect yourself concerning Seismograph surveys but keep in mind that seismic surveys can encourage production. Therefore don't deny the companies the right to do the survey.
What Section?
make sure that it is only seismic and not an option to lease your land. comstock recently contacted someone about seismic but the agreement also had an option on a lease. for $25.00 per acre you dont want to tie your land up with anyone regarding leasing.
