Don't know if its the most active. But all the activity is something to be excited about. Hope it keeps getting stronger.
IMO everyone in the TMS will eventually see some action. Amite is the hotspot at the moment with the recent successes by Encana - esp. the Anderson wells. Also, if I recall correctly, the bulk of Encana's acreage was inherited from Encore Acquisition which probably go back to 2008-2009, which means to me that they will want to drill a lot in Amite County and the eastern TMS to hold these leases by production before they expire or a second round of bonuses have to be paid to renew the leases. Also, the TMS is shallower in that area and probably and less expensive to drill than in some other areas to the south and southwest, like W. Fel. I assume there is some fresh leasing going on in both Amite and Wilkinson Counties(Horseshoe Hill well was a success) at the moment. I counted what looked like 17 landmen at the Woodville Courthouse last Friday and heard there were as many in Amite County and more headed that way. Anyone been to the Courthouse to see?
Dash, here are some guidlines from the eagle ford. I am in the center of the play. (we set up industrial support for drillers (sand, buildings, land, etc) three years ago the play kicked off with several wells way south in cotulla, tex, area. these first horizontals were productive and did well for a good period.( one yr. sustained production) the play really took off at this point. the rock is shallow at cotulla and cheaper to drill, it has moved steadily east two hundred miles and hundreds of wellls two years later. If the price stays up and the tuscaloosa is a good oil play with gas you will never imagine the changes this will bring to miss. Traffic will be twenty four seven. leases will be sold and bought for higher prices you have a huge water for fracking advantage, and a lot more exsisting infrastructure, (hotels, restaurants etc.) all of us with interest in mississippi counties in play should be interested observers.
If you are in the area and are a hungry oil field hand I strongly recommend the lunch and dinner buffets at Vines in Centerville and the Dinnerbell for lunch in McComb. The Friday night seafood buffet at Vines and the Sat. nite BBQ buffet is awesome country food at its best. The Dinerbell is like Sunday dinner at your grandmother's house.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
