Hi Dana!

If CHK partners with another company like Encana or Petrohawk and those companies acquired leases on their own then CHK pays Encana/Petrohawk and they in turn pay their leased people (set-up similar to third party billing). If it’s a CHK well and no other leases by other partners are involved then Chesapeake pays 100% of the rate agreed upon between the lessor and CHK. Hope this helps! Katie,
Jack Blake is leased to CHK but SWEPI drilled the well.
Jack heard SWEPI is some kind of way partnering with Encana in my immediate area.
The well is Matthew Murray #21 in section 21 T10N R11W
I have two questions:
Who will Jack Blake get his royalty check from?
Will Jack Blake be paid the rate agreed upon between the lessor(Jack Blake) and CHK in the signed lease?

Hey Jack - The answers to those questions depend on the agreement between CHK and the other operator and the details of your lease. Please call our Contact Center at 1-877-CHK-1GAS and a representative will be able to look at the details of your well/lease and give you some answers.

We are leased to CHK and SWEPI leased form CHK; Shell/EnCana are the operators, and we receive our checks from CHK...Late..the first one was....almost 12 months after production....still waiting on Division Orders from the other active producing well or a check.. it has been producing since 03/01/2010..

Hey TOM CAT,
It looks like u and jack Blake have bout near the same situation. as far as who you are leased to and the Operators.
Jack just does not know if SWEPI aquired my lease from CHK. I need to call the folks Katie told me to call.
12 months after production-It must have been a good check!

thanks for the info, i actually have an interest in 2 wells one with chk in keithville area and one with encana in red river parish. we received our first royalty payment thur chk this month and were told that the coushatta well through encana would be paid half by them and half by shell first payment will be at the end of this month. interested to see price payment for gas from the 2 different companies.
