Clean Energy Fuels secures additional vehicle conversion contract from AT&T

AT&T (NYSE: T) has awarded Clean Energy Fuels Corp (NASDAQ: CLNE) another contract to convert 463 Ford E-250 vans to run on compressed natural gas (CNG). The work will be conducted by wholly owned subsidiary, BAF Technologies Inc for delivery during the second quarter of 2010. The CNG vehicle conversion specialist is currently completing a 600 van order for AT&T, which it expects to deliver before year end.

"The new orders demonstrate AT&T's determination to significantly alter its fleet to alternative-fuel vehicles", Clean Energy President and CEO, Andrew J. Littlefair commented, "We are continuing to pursue additional national fleet conversion opportunities using BAF's technology"

There is potential for further orders, as AT&T requested BAF to procure CNG cylinders on AT&T's behalf, for an additional 463 conversions to be completed in the third quarter of 2010, although no formal order has been made.
In its core business, Clean Energy owns and operates two LNG production plants, with a combined capacity of 260,000 LNG gallons per day and which could expand to 340,000 gallons per day as demand increases.

I went to the BAF website and they convert only Ford products because of "CARB and EPA" standards. Does that mean there's nothing out there for GMC or Chevrolet or Dodge products... Toyota and Nissan pick-up trucks? It's nice that business is moving toward natural gas... but it will be even better and good for business when reliable conversion options (or new vehicle products) become available to consumers. thanks, jhh
I have a GMC 2500 Diesel and would consider CNG
