Common Resources Haynesville Shale Well in East Texas Tops 20 MMcfd (10/26/2009)

Cabot made the following statement in today's press release:

"In east Texas, Cabot confirmed that the Company and its partners are flow testing its first horizontal Haynesville shale well. The well is hooked up to sales flowing back at this point, at approximately 21.0 Mmcf per day with a flowing casing pressure of 7,800 psi, after 11 days in line. Dinges added, "We anticipate that the well will improve further as it continues to clean up frac fluid." The well is operated by Common Resources, and Cabot is a 42 percent working interest partner.

"Our recent success affords us the opportunity to increase our production guidance for the fourth quarter making the previous high end of guidance the low point and establishing a new high level for the range," commented Dinges. "Additionally, we have also raised our capital program to cover the potential results from a more extensive leasing effort in Marcellus." The new investment program is $580 million, which will only be spent depending on leasing success."

Well isn't that just a bit of sunshine hearing this news on a very rainy day. I checked both Cabot's and Common Resources website and could not find any information as to where this well is located. Any info on your side Les? Or maybe we'll just have to wait until Cabot's scheduled conference call tomorrow morning for further details?
Good news, D. Gaar. I guess we have to wait for the conference call and hope they tell!
Earlier in the full press release they mention its in County Line Field, probably near the other Common Resources wells. Looks like a hall of famer well on the Texas or Louisiana list.
Yeah, Looks like this one would go straight to the head of the class on the Texas HOF list. In any event. looks to be more good news for Shelby and San Augustine.
DG, I assume it may the following well. Original reports had the well at 16.7 MMcfd but the rate may have increased as the well cleaned up.

Common Resources, Red River 619 #1 Well, Serial #680034 , San Augustine County

Hopefully Cabot will release the news this morning. They did have quite a few horizontals permitted this past mid-summer in that corridor of San Augustine and Shelby so it will be interesting to find out who the lucky sweepstakes winners are!

I'm Just happy to see more and more of these recent horizontals coming in with higher IP reports in the 12mmfcd and now up to 21mmfcd range. Good news for E.Texas prospects in general.
Isn't that Red River well the one where Common Resources is JV with Southwest Energy? Seems like the Cabot JV will be a different well.
DG, yes - I think you are right.
I just sat through the entire call and never got a well name. Here are the little tidbits gleaned:

1st AMI horizontal in HA with Common Resources operating.
The well has a total depth of 17000' and a 3400' lateral.
It had 14 frac stages at a cost of $10 million.

(My guess is the Red River-Smith 98 #1 permitted back in Feb. for 14000' w/ a 3700' lat. I don't recall ever seeing an IP for this well.)

2nd AMI well is 4-6 miles west of KVG #3. Cabot has ORI and gets well data.

3rd AMI well will be about 5 miles east of KVG #3 to be spud in Dec.
Cabot has 29% WI

4th AMI well will be to the SW of KVG #3 in 1Q 2010. Cabot has 22% WI

1st 100% Cabot HA hz. will be an offset to the KVG #3 in 1Q 2010

KVG #3 vertical HA (which never reported) had an IP of approx. 2MMCFD and tested the Bossier, the Haynesville and the Haynesville Lime and all intervals had gas.
so are Cabot-Common Resources LLC-SWN all JV'ing together?? in the Haynesville in this area? Getting kinda confusing
ALongview started at least one and maybe two discussions on the San Augustine County page about the JV and AMI activity taking place in that county back in the summer. He posted the documents that he found in the records. I refer you to those discussions. They were interesting.
